La Picaza victorious over Enigma, 13-10
The final of the last stage of the 5th Argentina Polo Tour was played at Ellerstina today, between La Picaza and Enigma. The prizes are always plentiful at this series of tournaments, but today’s rewards were impressive, with the grand prize of a set of 4 new Fiat Stradas for the winning team.
Enigma, having won this stage and the resulting four Fiats last year, started well and were running away with the game, leading 6-2 by the end of the second chukka, and looked on course for victory.
Nachi Heguy had other ideas, and came out on some superb horses to outrun Enigma and repeatedly steal the ball, to leave the score line completely reversed by the end of the fourth chukka. A hard ride off between Heguy and Mac Donough nearing the end of the 5th chukka lead to a time out for medical treatment to Mac Donough, and Enigma were unable to regain the advantage.
Nachi Heguy was awarded man of the match.
