On Wednesday, 9/12, the 2024 AAP Triple Crown made its official presentation at Polo House, kicking off the three tournaments that bring together the best polo in the world, in a formal opening event for press and special guests.
On this occasion, these three tournaments, unique on the planet, will have among their protagonists the eight players with the highest valuation in polo – the 10 handicap goals – and they already have their tickets on sale through www.ticketek.com.ar.
“We are very excited and eager to inaugurate a new season of the best polo in the world, which is effectively held in our country. This sport continues to be a national pride that is distinguished throughout the world; that is why we are proud that everyone can come to live and enjoy this show of great prestige and international scope,” said Carlos Menéndez Behety, board of directors of the AAP and president of the Marketing Subcommittee.
The event had the participation of one player for each of the participating teams: Juan Martín Nero -La Dolfina Saudi-, Pablo Mac Donough -La Natividad-, Pablo Pieres -La Hache Polo Team-, Gonzalo Pieres (h) -Ellerstina Yellow Rose-, Juan Britos (h) -La Ensenada Brubank-, Bautista Bayugar -Cría La Dolfina-, Joaquín Pittaluga -La Hache Cría & Polo-; and Cruz Heguy –Indios Chapaleufú Vista Energy-. Also part of the meeting were the members of the AAP Board of Directors and the CEO, Fernando Cirilli.
Also joining were José R. Santamarina Jr., vice president of the Hurlingham Club; Jorge Anzorreguy, president of the Tortugas Country Club; and important authorities of the accompanying companies, including Julia Lois, Marketing Head of HSBC.
The evening offered a tour with a focus on the industry, women’s polo – Verónica Guerrero, president of the Subcommittee spoke – and the new book that will be published by the AAP in the coming days, for which Emilia Zavaleta, who was an important part of the edition of the same, which will feature great photos by the official photographer of the Association, took the stage. Finally, the Triple Crown was emphasized as “The Best Polo in the World”; and the long-awaited draw for the fixture of the 131st Hurlingham Club Open presented by Triumph was made, while then groups A and B of the remaining two tournaments were confirmed, the 84th Tortugas Country Club Open presented by Jumbo and the 131st HSBC Argentine Polo Open.
After the presentation was over, more than 350 guests were able to enjoy a cocktail with the players.
