Argentine Open – Day 2

On Sunday 3/11, the second day of the 131st HSBC Argentine Polo Open began to be played on field 2 in Palermo.

Adolfito Cambiaso broke the record he shared with brothers Alberto (h) and Eduardo Heguy; and became the polo player who played the  Argentine Polo Open for the most times, with 32, La Dolfina Saudi beat La Zeta Kazak by 21 to 7, a team that arrives from the classification and in which Beltrán Laulhé and Lorenzo Chavanne participated, who debuted in the highest world event of our sport. Congratulations to all three!

With the victory, the Cañuelas team won the Cooperative Cup of the Military Hospital that was at stake in this match.

Despite having started unfocused, the team from La Dolfina Saudi gradually took advantages thanks to a very good game by Adolfito Cambiaso – he is 49 years old and continues to play as if he were 25 -, very well accompanied by the Uruguayan Pelón Stirling and Juanma Nero, very secure in defense.

Despite the heavy defeat, La Zeta has a good feeling and is expected to improve as the tournament matches go by.

At the end of the second day of the 131st HSBC Argentine Polo Open, the defending champion La Natividad vs. La Aguada Catamarca, the other team that comes from the “qualy”, faced each other on Sunday 3/11 on field 1 in Palermo. It was a 19-11 victory for the Castagnola team, who in addition to starting the tournament on the right foot, were awarded the Omint Cup that was at stake.

Although they did not play the polo to which we are accustomed, the green-and-white team achieved a clear victory against the Open Door team, which had passages of good play and showed Facu Llosa – debutant along with Chilean Pipe Vercellino – and Brazilian Pedrinho Zacharías as its best values on the day. Good victory for La Natividad, which will seek to improve its game to face the next matches of the tournament.
