AUDI POLO GOLD CUP CIRCUIT ARRIVES IN THE ETERNAL CITY

Arriving in the Eternal City is the Audi Polo Gold Cup Circuit. After the traditional opening stage on the snow at Cortina d’Ampezzo, the focus shifts to the historical polo pitch of Roma Polo Club from 24-29 June which will host the second round of the circuit. A meeting of high level sport with matches at sunset under the spotlight (the tournament is combined with the Duca d’Aosta Cup). The Roman capital and the fascinating Roma Polo Club will be a centre of attraction not only for polo fans.

EXTRAORDINARY ROMA SUMMER POLO: 10 TEAMS, 40 PLAYERS AND 220 HORSES

The 2013 edition of the Roma Summer Polo Audi Gold Cup promises the best. There are over ten polo teams entered (in comparison to six in 2012): a turnout that motivated the addition of two more days of competition. From 22-23 June, the tournament will have its prologue at the Polo Club ‘La Ginevra’, a few kilometers north of Rome Polo Club, where four matches will be played out of the 20 envisaged from the programme. An extraordinary attendance for the second leg of the Polo Gold Cup, involving forty players and approximately 220 horses. From 24 June play will move to the Roma Polo Club with matches at sunset and under the spotlight during night matches. The tournament is, as always, linked to the disputing of the Duca D’Aosta Cup, the central event of the sports programme of the club. The Audi Polo Team and the U.S. Polo Assn. Team, who were the protagonists of the final of the 2012 edition of the tournament, will be back on the field under the respectful command of Luca Evangelista D’Orazio and Stefania Annunziata.
