Brazil names its team for Cartier International Day

The Brazilian Polo Association has named its team that will play England for the Coronation Cup on Cartier International Day 2011. This will be the third time that these two countries have met and England dominates the series so far – having won both previous matches.

Whatever the final score, the winning team will enter the record books as this year is the 100th anniversary of the Coronation Cup and is certain to be the highest handicapped match to be played on British soil this year.

England, sponsored by Audi, is still to name its four-man squad, but the Brazilian team will be an impressive 29-goal quartet. They are:

Rodrigo Andrade             8

Joao Paulo Ganon          8

Jose Eduardo Kalil          6

Luiz Paulo Bastos           7

The Coronation Cup is the main game on the Hurlingham Polo Association’s Cartier International Day, at Guards Polo Club on Sunday, 24 July.  However the sporting action begins in the morning when the rising stars of England take to the field – for either the FT How to Spend It Hurlingham team  or the Audi Prince of Wales quartet – to play in the Golden Jubilee Trophy.  An impressive Retail Village and a variety of hospitality options are also available and the day will conclude with a great party – in the impressive Chinawhite marquee.
