British Beach Polo Championships

The British Beach Polo Championships returns to Sandbanks

 

The presentation of the 2009 British Beach Polo Championships took place yesterday at Café Shore in Sandbanks. The launch which was headed by organiser Johnny Wheeler enabled the press and media to see the beach polo riders and ponies in action on the beach before the event which will take place on 10 and 11 of July. Polo players such as Chris Hyde, Ryan Pemble, Jack Kidd and Jamie Morrison were also in attendance to explain the game and the rules to the non polo media

 

Six teams will take part in this year’s British Beach Polo Championships and in addition the event will also hold an international match between England and USA.

 

Building on the huge success of last year’s inaugural British Beach Polo Championships, the 2009 promises to be a great event. The tournament has now established itself as an annual event and organisers say they have agreed a five year term and that the event will continue annually on Sandbanks up to 2014.
