Buenos Aires ends its ban on horse transportation


The ban on the transportation of horses in the city and province of Buenos Aires has ended, although a sanitary alert remains in the entire Country.


SENASA (Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria) has announced that as from midnight on the 4th June 2010, the ban on transportation of horses has ended within the city and province of Buenos Aires, although the sanitary alert regarding AVE (Arteritis Viral Equina) remains throughout the country.


SENASA continues with its epidemiologic controls and recommends that owners and managers of the hippodromes, riding clubs, training centres, stud farms and equine establishments, only receive horses from regions which are serologically AVE negative.
