POWER OF POLO BECOMES HPA AFFILIATED ORGANISATION
23rd May 2025
The Hurlingham Polo Association is proud to announce Power of Polo as one of its affiliated associations. Power of Polo is the only UK charity working to use polo as a sport for change, and this recognition emphasises the growing importance of equine and sport-related interventions in the modern world. The HPA and POP are delighted to be working together to enable polo to play a part in this movement.
Power of Polo operates through a collaborative model, linking existing charities with polo partners to deliver programmes that enable participants to foster resilience, grow self-confidence, develop teamwork, and discover the power of the human-equine relationship. The charity also introduces polo to new audiences, meaning its mission aligns strongly with the HPA’s goals to grow and diversify participation in polo, while ensuring the sport’s continued relevance and accessibility.
Katy Hayward, Power of Polo’s Founder and CEO, said “This is a key milestone for us; we’ve worked towards HPA affiliation since day one and are thrilled to see our hard work and commitment recognised by polo’s governing body. We’re now focused on building our capacity, infrastructure and reach to take our work further. We encourage everyone to get behind what we’re doing and help us to achieve our goal: for every polo club to partner with us in using the sport we all love to give back – meaningfully, sustainably, and in a way that resonates with their local communities.”
Anna Hall, CEO of the Hurlingham Polo Association, commented: “The HPA is delighted to welcome Power of Polo as an affiliated association. POP’s innovative and socially impactful approach demonstrates how polo can be a positive force beyond the field. This affiliation complements our existing partnership with the Polo Charity Trust and underscores the broader role our sport can play in today’s world. We are committed to supporting meaningful causes that align with the values of our sport and look forward to supporting POP’s continued development and encouraging the wider polo community to get involved.”
