Dubai Lawyers Polo Cup 2011
This year the Lawyers Polo Association will host its fourth annual polo tournament in Dubai (UAE).
The tournament will be held at Dessert Palm, which has the finest polo fields in the Gulf.
The tournament will kick off with a black-tie reception on November 1st. Play-off games will take place on November 3rd and the finals on November 4th. An awards ceremony and a closing party will follow the final matches.
There will be 4 polo teams formed by international and local players. Lawyers from France, Italy, England, United States, Canada, India and Argentina have already confirmed their participation.
“We chose Dubai as it will be the city hosting this year’s International Bar Association annual conference. We are expecting a large turnout. We are thrilled by the excellent response we got from the players and sponsors” said Eduardo Bereterbide.
The Lawyers Polo Association has more than 300 members from around the globe who share a career in a law and a passion for polo. Two close friends, Eduardo Bereterbide and Justin Fogarty, founded the LPA in 2008.
Lawyers Polo organizes a polo tournament each year in a different city in conjunction with the IBA annual meeting. The IBA brings together more than 5000 lawyers from around the globe during for a week of conferences, networking and entertainment.
The previous tournaments of LPA were in Buenos Aires (2008), Madrid (2009) and Toronto (2010).
