The qualifying league matches for the 22-goal Harcourt Developments Queen’s Cup finished on Monday with eight teams going through to play in the quarter-finals starting Saturday 4 June.

Only one of Monday’s matches was a decider for the quarter-finals. Both Lyndon Lea’s Zacara and Alfio Marchini’s Loro Piana had won one and lost one in League 4. Loro Piana won the match 8-5, but Zacara went through on goal differences, joining Joachim Gottschalk’s Les Lions from that league.

In the day’s other league matches, Emlor beat Piaget 11-8, Sumaya defeated El Remanso 11-7, and Mansour Jaeger LeCoultre downed Arvali 9-6.

From League 1, Jerome Wirth’s Enigma goes through to the quarter-finals with a 3-0 win/loss record, joined by Prince Bahar Jefri’s Richard Mille, 2-1, on goal differences. In League 2, Jean-François Decaux’s La Bamba de Areco goes through with a 3-0 count, together with Adrian Kirby’s 1870, 2-1, on goals. Edouard Carmignac’s Talandracas with a 3-0 record and Ali Albwardy’s Dubai, 2-1, on goals qualify from League 3.

The other 8 of the 16 teams in the Queen’s Cup now go on to play for The Prince of Wales Trophy at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club starting 4 June.
