Ellerston and UAE advance to Silver
Cup semifinals

There will be no faceoff between Facundo Pieres and Adolfo
Cambiaso in Santa Maria Polo Club’s Silver Cup this year as Dubai (2-1) and
Ayala (2-1) were eliminated from the field in a Monday morning shootout with
UAE (2-1) and Ellerston (2-1) advancing into the tournament semifinals on
Wednesday.
The Silver Cup semifinals will have Scapa (2-0) meeting
Ellerston while Halcyon Gallery (3-0) faces UAE (2-1). Both UAE and Ellerston suffered their only
losses of the tournament to an Ayala team who was eliminated in Monday’s
shootout.
Ellerston lost to Ayala on August 8th in a 16-12
game while UAE’s defeat came at the hands of Ayala on Sunday in a 18-17
shooting spree.
The current scoring leaders in Silver Cup competition are
Sebastian Merlos and Facundo Pieres with 11 goals apiece.
