Ghantoot claims the Emirates International Polo Cup over Zidane

After the well-played game, Ghantoot has dedicated the title of the 14th edition of the Emirates International Open Polo tournament to His Highness Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club in recognition and appreciation for his kindness in supporting the tournament and his keen follow-up to the ongoing activities the club enjoys, which has the sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Ghantoon snatched the title from the Saudi Zidane team by 15/9, on the other hand bin Drai team managed to go third by winning the against Desert Palm by 8/5.
Ghantoot has succeeded in setting the closing ceremony of the tournament and the season that a large number of attendees have enjoyed which included several activities witnessed by the participation of Emirates Heritage Club, Abu Dhabi Police live music band, the Ghantoot heritage tent that defined the true Arabic and Gulf hospitality, the show included a special activity by the Cavalry Club, a Camel Polo game, the loveliest outfits and hats competitions. Children enjoyed the dogs special show and play grounds, in addition to valuable gifts withdrawals towards the end presented by Al Futtaim Motors – Official Car Luxes and Dusit Thani Hotel – Abu Dhabi.
At the end of the final match, H.E. Saeed bin Hofan Al Mansouri Vice Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club accompanied by H.E. Ahmed Al Nuaimi, director general of the club and Fadel Khalil Al Mansouri representative Sports Council Abu Dhabi have honored all the participating teams, and presented the title to Ghantoot team along with 880 thousand dirhams as prize to the golden team which consists of UAE player Yousef bin Dasmal and Philip, Juan Zafalta, Alejandro mezzo. Zidane was presented with the second place trophy in addition to the amount of 200,000 dirhams, Ben Drai received the third place title and valuable gifts to all the players in addition to the amount of 120,000 dirhams.
The honoring also included main sponsors of the tournament, the referee crew from Argentine; Abu Dhabi Sports Council the main sponsor of the tournament and the company Al Basti Equiworld. Two ladies were chosen from the audience to win the best female outfit award.
Top players and scorers of the tournament have been also rewarded during the ceremony, as Ghantoot’s player Yousef bin Dasmal received the best local player award and was honored a Lexus car by Al Futtaim group one of the main sponsors of the tournament, in addition to the 150,000 dirhams. Ghantoot’s player Alejandro mezzo who was voted the best player among all players in the Cup received 100,000 dirhams. Furthermore,(Acioaso) which ridden by Alejandro from Ghantoot received the best horse title in the tournament, towards the end dinner was served and all guests enjoyed the wonderfully managed ceremony.
