England aim to make it six wins in a row in International Arena Polo Test Match

England will be going all out for victory when they take on a team from the rest of the British Isles in the annual International Arena Polo Test Match at Hickstead.

The All England Polo Club – Hickstead will once again play host to the Test Match, which will be held on Saturday 2nd March.

England will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run, having been victorious against teams from South Africa in 2008, the USA in 2009, Scotland in 2010, Argentina in 2011, and the USA again in last year’s match at Hickstead.

This year’s match will see England take on some of the best players from the rest of Britain. England will be captained by 9-goaler Chris Hyde, Europe’s highest handicapped arena player. Chris helped the England team secure a 12-9 win over the USA in 2012 to take home the coveted Bryan Morrison Trophy.

Captaining the Rest of the British Isles team will be 8-goaler Jamie Morrison, who has two gold medals in the Federation of International Polo European Championships to his name. His successes in arena polo include two Arena Nations Cups and three Arena Gold Cup titles.

The day’s play will open with The Clogau 12 Goal Challenge, with Wales, captained by Ricky Cooper, going head-to-head with the Commonwealth.

This thrilling day of arena polo action, will be followed by a fantastic lunch – when polo fans will have the chance to dine alongside the great and the good from the sport, with Hickstead’s famous international arena providing a stunning backdrop.

AEPC Hickstead Chairman John Bunn said: “It is great to be the HPA’s chosen venue for the Test Matches, and this year will see six of the best British Arena Polo players showcasing our sport at an extremely rare handicap level of 22 to 24 goals. This is going to be a day of polo you will not want to miss.”

Admission tickets are on sale now, at just £5 per ticket, while the post-match luncheon is £45. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.hickstead.co.uk/polo/the-arena-polo-test-match.aspx
