England and Argentina ready themselves for the toughest game of the season

Audi International, Guards Polo Club, near Windsor – Saturday 26 July 2014

The Audi International 2014 will surely be a day to remember for years to come. The game at Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park, promises to be one of the best held on English soil in years. The formidable Argentine team- complete with two of the world’s greatest polo talents – will descend on the polo field to face the England quartet for the spectacle of the polo season.

An impressive array of VIPs will join the roaring crowds, providing a touch of glamour to the hard-fought battle unfolding on the polo field. Guests this year will include Tom Hardy, Eddie Redmayne, Thandie Newton, Dominic Cooper, Gemma Arterton, Jack O‘ Connell and Edie Campbell to name but a few.

Polo’s reputation as the ‘Sport of Kings’ will reinforce its strong royal ties as HRH Prince Charles will also be attending to present the prizes.

The very best talent from Argentina and England will compete for the impressive Coronation Cup. As well as the crème de la crème of the world’s polo talent, this year’s match will showcase the exciting up-and-coming English player, Ollie Cudmore. At just 24, he will become the youngest player to have represented England on International Day at Guards Polo Club in over a decade. While Luke Tomlinson (captain) and his Audi England polo team-mates bring to the field four consecutive International Day wins, the Argentines will present fierce competition in the form of Adolfo Cambiaso and Facundo Pieres – two of the world’s eight 10 goal players.

If you can tear yourself away from the thunder of hooves and athleticism of the horses, non-stop entertainment will cater to your every need off the field. The extensive range of chic fashion, bespoke leather goods and handcrafted art on offer demonstrate that polo is not a sport– it‘s a lifestyle. The variety of the stands encapsulates the day’s wonderful fusion of classical English and exotic Argentine cultures. These will offer the finest quality clothing and accessories exclusively imported from Argentina, including Alpaca Guapa, an elegant company which imports luxury scarves and accessories made from the finest wool of baby alpaca. Art lovers can spoil themselves browsing the original equine art will be available from the uber-talented Elizabeth Armstrong, as well as a few one-off, limited edition prints.
