Following the announcement this week that he has been raised to 9 goals in the arena (now making him the second highest handicapped English arena player behind Chris Hyde who has made English arena polo history by being raised to 10 goals), Max Charlton now 7 goals is heading to the pitches of Palermo alongside team mates Luke Tomlinson (7), Mark Tomlinson (6) and Ollie Cudmore (5) to compete in The Copa de las Naciones (24 – 26 goal) which starts this Saturday.

The two teams playing in 2015 against host nation Argentina (Matías Benoit 6, Alejandro Muzzio 8, Felipe Martínez Ferrario 4, Francisco De Narváez (h) 8. Total: 26), are: England (Ollie Cudmore 5, Mark Tomlinson 6, Max Charlton 7, Luke Tomlinson 7. Total: 25) and the Rest of the World (HRH Crown Prince Ismail Ibrahim 3, Nicolás Pieres 9, Ignatius Michael Du Plessis 8, David Jean Du Plessis 6. Total: 26).

Last year the Copa de Naciones, which is held annually at Palermo, was won by England (Mark Tomlinson, Ollie Cudmore, James Beim and captain Luke Tomlinson) who beat Argentina 10-9 in the deciding game and took the title on goal difference, with both teams having two wins and one loss to their name.

England will play their first match on Wednesday 22nd April against the Rest of the World, then play Argentina on the following Saturday 25th April.  The Copa de Naciones 2015 will open on Saturday 18th April when Argentina take on the Rest of the World.

Other English players can also be seen at the same time on the Palermo pitches, with England Under 15 squad (Luke Wiles -1, Charlie Townsend 0, Marcus Cork -1 and Milly Hine -1) taking on representative teams from the same countries.
