The Hurlingham Polo Association has announced the 26 goal team that will face Australasia for the first test match of the English season at Beaufort Polo Club on Saturday, 20th June, 2009.

Luke Tomlinson (7) will again captain the side and will be joined by his brother Mark (6). James Beim (7) and Malcolm Borwick (6) join them. Nacho Gonzalez and Henry Brett have been selected as reserves for this match.

The England team will face a 28 goal team from Australasia, three of which are Australian and one New Zealander. John Paul Clarkin (8) will captain the side and is joined by ozzies Glen Gilmore (7), Ruki Baillieu (7) and Robbie Archibald (6).

It will be a tough first test for the England chaps, but will be good preparation for this year’s Cartier International, where they will take on Argentina. Last year, the England quartet won all three of its test matches, playing solidly as a team. Since the line-up hasn’t changed this season, it will be interesting to see if they can recapture their form and continue on their unbeaten streak.
