FIP announces its new CEO

FIP announces its new CEO

The Executive Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Alejandro Taylor as its new CEO.

Due to the nature and requirements of the post it had been decided by the EC that rather than involve the Federation in substantial expenditure by using an executive search company who would have sought applicants from within our own sport, that we should instead go out to our Member Nations with a full job description and some specific requirements to seek suitable candidates.

We received over 23 responses from our member countries and eight applications from five different nations which were all carefully considered. The job specification emphasised the requirements of good written and spoken Spanish & English, administrative experience at both Club and Association level and a good grasp of accountancy. An understanding of the ethos behind FIP was considered to be a bonus.

Two applicants were finally short-listed, Alex Taylor as the current temporary incumbent and Diego Uranga who flew to Chile to be interviewed. After suitable consideration by the EC it was decided unanimously that Alex Taylor should be offered the permanent post as CEO and we are delighted that Diego Uranga has expressed a desire to assisting FIP on a voluntary basis for the future.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those applicants who applied for the post for their interest in the position and all those nations who responded with recommendations.

Many of you will know Alex Taylor from his years as a Council of Administration Member and Treasurer at the AAP. He has extensive commercial experience and during his time as Interim CEO of FIP he has been the power behind ensuring that the FIP By-Laws are finally compliant with the Uruguay authority’s requirements, working with the AAP, USPA & HPA on the International Rules and of course the outstanding success of the recent FIP 10th World Championship in Chile. I look forward to working with him to the betterment of the Federation and its Member Nations.
