’Golden Goals’ polo initiative in support of TCCC

The Texas Children’s Cancer Center (TCCC) and Asad Jumabhoy have launched the ’Golden Goals’ polo initiative in support of the work that the TCCC does. As the TCCC’s newly appointed sports ambassador for 2011, Asad Jumabhoy hopes to bring an element of continual social commitment to the sport of polo through the Golden Goals campaign.

Polo is experiencing a very exciting time in it’s development. Through the global initiatives led by Nacho Figueras, polo stands on the cusp of exploding into mainstream sport. What it will take to get polo to the next level are vehicles that drive change in the dynamic of the sport’s interaction with society while remaining true to all the sporting ideals of polo.

The TCCC’s mission is to provide high-quality, family-centered care to children, adolescents and young adults afflicted with cancer and blood disorders. The Center deals with innovative lab research and treatment advances with the ultimate aim at curing and preventing these diseases.

Over the last two months Asad Jumabhoy has been working with the TCCC about getting ’Golden Goals’ off the ground. He is very excited for this project and hopes that all of you will take some time to look over the attached flyer.

Support for ’Golden Goals’ will be a pledge for the Spring ’11 and Fall ’11 season in Houston and, if you so choose, the summer season in Southeast Asia.

Should you have any questions regarding the campaign, please do not hesitate to contact ameerjumabhoy@gmail.com or +1-832-316-9216. He will e-mail the list of tournaments that falls under the ’Golden Goals’ campaign to those of you who register interest in joining us in support of the TCCC. Updates on the campaign can also be monitored through their poloblog, www.ajpolo.wordpress.com which is sponsored by Zack’s Tack.
