Created in 2006, this competition is reserved, invitations only, to the «Smeralda 888» sailing boats (around 9m long) for the regatta and to the polo teams for the corresponding competition.
With the participation of famous international sailing and polo competitors, we will have a nice sport show in Saint-Tropez Gulf. For people to discover these wonderful disciplines, the access to the matches (6-8 goals*) is free of charge at the Polo Club Saint-Tropez in Gassin and the regatta will be organized in Saint-Tropez Gulf.

On the sailing side, a new-comer among the 9 smeralda 888 in competition:
Gathered by the Yacht Club of Monaco in Saint-Tropez, a fleet of «Smeralda 888» sailing boats will be on the starting line in the Saint-Tropez Gulf. On board of this 8.88 m x 2.50m sailing boat, four to five crew members are necessary. Nine sailing boats are in competition. Among the regular and redoubted Smeralda «Vamos mi amor» of Charles de Bourbon, «Botta Dritta» of Adalberto Miani «Mascalzone Latino» of Achille Onorato, «Bear Essential» of Ian Ilsey, or the units «I Vitelloni», «Myst», «Another Affair», «Extravaganza», a new-comer will take part in the Hippocampus Cup for the 1st time. It is the Smeralda «Gryphon» who ranked 4th place at the last competition “the Spring Cup” in Monaco and is a more and more redoubted opponent in this category!
On the polo side , 5 international teams in competition:
Franck Dubarry joins Dean Clark to make the team Techno polo – Haras de Gros Bec. Again this year, they will be opposed to the local team of Saint-Tropez, led by Corinne Schuler, and to 2 other German teams Pink Energy, gathered by Andreas Knapp-Voith,and Ultra Pro, headed by Albrecht Bach. The Tides, Polish team led by Darek Gardener, new-comers this year, will again find their place among these 4 regular teams.
