Easy win for Ellerstina, but no so easy for La Dolfina By Jorge Andrades Ellerstina Etiqueta Negra and La Dolfina Peugeot defeated El Paraiso 16-8 and Indios Chapaleufu II 18-17, respectively; on the first day of the B zone of the oldest Championship in the world, the Hurlingham Open in Argentina. Ellerstina put up a convincing performance in the first four chukkers, when they took a decisive 6 goals leading margin in the score, and then preserved it up to the end of the game to win it deservedly and without any problems. Facundo Pieres with 7 goals was the top scorer and best figure of the match which resulted open and attractive. On the contrary, despite La Dolfina, bolstered by an outstanding task by Adolfo Cambiaso –he was booked in the last game-, had the control of the scorer during the game, managing to be 4 goals ahead in the third, fourth, sixth and seventh chukkers; they had to make a big effort from equalizing in the last period. Indios Chapaleufu II did their best to gain the fifth chukker 3-0 to put just one goal below (11-12), but La Dolfina immediately recovered their leadership and, with a 4-1 in the sixth game, they stop their rivals´ expectations. As said, in the last period, the winners just controlled their opponents who, despite of their hard fighting, were not able to equalize. The match resulted irregular as both teams played well in some passages –the first and fourth chukkers were excellent, with six goals each-; but in the rest the players committed many errors and fouls, arguing among them and the umpires, which spoilt the game.
