Indio, CA (December 28th, 2008) – With the rain finished and the weather starting to warm up somewhat, polo was on again at the Eldorado Polo Club with the Jackson Hole Horse Emporium Holiday Cup.
Three teams entered the two day six goalevent and played an abreviated format – not a round robim – that saw half games played on Saturday with the remainder completed on Sunday.
With help from Danny and Mathew Walker, Wily and Claudia Uretzs World Gym foursomecame out on top after a threeway tie at 1 – 1 needed a net goal tie-breaker to decide the winner. After defeating Chuck Stanislawskis White Star by a score of 9 – 5 it looked as if the Walker/Uritz combination would be a lock to win both of their games. Not so, as Bill Garlocks Parklane group stopped them by a score of 7 – 6. Surprising as Parklane lost to White Star by a 7 – 5 count. In the end, the workout people had 3 net goals to claim the title.
Wily Uretz and Alvaro Tadeo were the high scorers of the weekend with eight goals each.
