For the third year running, the fine Swiss watchmaking Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre held a charity polo game attended by nearly300 guests. Last Friday Guillain Maspetiol, UK Brand Director, welcomed international andlocal celebrities at the Ham Polo Club in Richmond.The eventfeatured two exhibition games with the World’s best polo players and an auctionfor two charitable organisations: “Ideas del Sur” and “Maggie’s centres”.

 

 

The Guests

 

Guests enjoyed abeautiful sunny day in London’scountryside and were treated with a LansonChampagne cocktail, followed by an Argentinean lunch.

 

Fabio Capello, England´s soccer team coach and friend of Jaeger-LeCoultre,took a relaxing day-off after the recent matches of the World Cupqualification. He was wearing his favourite watch: a Jaeger-LeCoultre SquadraWorld Chronograph.

 

Special guestsincluded Princess Beatrice and DaveClark, Yasmin Le Bon, wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso duetto Duo and her daughter Amber

Le bon, Pippa Middleton, Astrid Harbord, Henry Conway, Olivia Inge, MarissaMontgomery, Elizabeth Von Guttman, Alexia Niedzielski and Veronica Echegui.

 

 

The Matches

 

Polo legends –the Reverso Squadra by Jaeger-LeCoultre and the best professionals polo players– joined their forces in raising funds in a day dedicated to sport andhumanitarian values.

 

The first exhibition wasa ladies match, featuring Jaeger-LeCoultre brand ambassadors: Clare Milford Haven and Lia Salvo from Argentina both wearing their Jaeger-LeCoultreReverso Squadra Lady.

 

A close match, inwhich Jaeger-LeCoultre White beat Jaeger-LeCoultre Purple team 6-3.

Nina Clarkin, UK best polo player, was named MVP.

 

In the afternoon, anothergentlemen polo game followed, featuring the world best polo player and Jaeger-LeCoultrebrand ambassador, Adolfo Cambiaso. He was of course wearing his Reverso Squadrawatch !  The opposite team was lead by Argentineanprofessional Lolo Castagnola. His team partner Rachid Albwardy was also wearinghis favourite Reverso Squadra Hometime.

 

 

The game was a hardfought and a fast moving battle between which ended in a 2-2 tie.

 

 

The Auction

An auction washeld with unique prizes and all proceeds went to ‘Ideas del Sur’, an ArgentineanCharity devoted to underprivileged children and the British charity, Maggie’sCancer caring Centers.

 

Prices included :

 a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Squadra Lady,

– a polo clinicwith Clare Milford Haven and helicopter ride,

– an AdolfoCambiaso’s personal horse to be chosen at his ranch in Argentina,

– a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso SquadraHometime Steel,

and several othergifts…

 

Aside from the unveiling of the Reverso Squadra Lady, thebrands ties with polo go back over 75 years. The Reverso watch appearedin 1931, at the request of British polo players resident in India, who werelooking for a watch that would stand upto the blows of the sport.
