Adrenaline, tremendously fast horses and a summery sea breeze: On Pentecost the eastern coast of Sylt will be the setting for the Julius Bär Beach Polo World Cup for the ninth time. Long since it is not possible to imagine the event calendar of the island without the polo tournament and thus this year on 14th and 15th May polo connoisseurs, celebrities, Sylt enthusiasts and horse lovers will meet once again.
At arena beach polo tournaments the spectators are close to the action of the match. This means they experience the sport at close range and cheer for their teams enthusiastically. Tactics and goals, snorting, athletic horses and skilful rallies.
Eight teams have announced their attendance and will fight for the Julius Bär trophy – more teams than ever before. The reconstruction of the venue two years ago makes it possible to include such a high number of participants, who come from four different nations. Now the whole area is more spacious and the immediate proximity to the North Sea guarantees pure holiday feeling.
This year the world-renowned polo label La Martina will once again be official supplier of the Julius Bär Beach Polo World Cup Sylt. As in the past years the Argentine brand will again be represented at the venue by a presentation and sales tent.
Admission to the public area is free. Please use the bus service of the Sylter Verkehrsgesellschaft, which runs every twenty minutes between Hörnum and Westerland or use the specially arranged bus shuttle service from the K4 parking area (4km before Hörnum) directly to the polo arena.

During the past years the Julius Bär Beach Polo World Cup Sylt at the eastern coast of Hörnum has become one of the most popular events and a real crowd puller, attracting more than 10,000 spectators. In 2011 Julius Bär assumed the title sponsorship for the first time – and this year the Julius Bär Europe AG with its chairman of the executive board Heiko Schlag is once again in on it.
