JULIUS BAR GOLD CUP 2015 (Dubai Open)

Held under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai

Defending champion, Ghantoot Polo Team, will open tomorrow, Monday 23rd February, against Bin Drai Polo, The Julius Bär Gold Cup 2015, 18 goal handicap tournament.

The Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series (Dubai Open) is the highest handicap tournament in the Middle East, Africa and Asia and the fourth-largest tournament of its kind after Argentina, US and the UK.

Once the McLaren Cup 2015 came to an end, all ten teams where divided for the Julius Bär Gold Cup in two groups according to the final position in the McLaren Cup.

The groups for the Julius Bär Gold Cup are the following:

Zone A: Ghantoot, Bin Drai, Julius Bär Team by Habtoor, Mahra Polo and Edrees.

Zone B: Desert Palm 2, Zedan Polo, Abu Dhabi, Desert Palm 1 and UAE Polo Team.

Double action day

Teams are getting ready for the most important trophy of the season that will have a double action day from the start.
Tomorrow, Monday 23rd February, at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, Ghantoot Polo, also winners of the McLaren Cup 2015, will be facing Bin Drai from 2.30 pm.

In the second match of the day, to be held 4.30 pm, Edrees will play against Julius Bär Polo Team by Habtoor.

It will be a great opening for the Gold Cup that will have non stop action during almost all the next week at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club.
The Julius Bär Gold Cup will end on the 13th March with a great polo day that will include great attractions on and off the polo field.

The prize value of this year Julius Bar Gold Cup is half of million dirhams.

This year the teams have more to play for, as the winning team will not only be awarded with the Gold Cup; each team member will also be given a limited edition Breitling for Bentley watch.
