La Aguada horse sale

 La Aguada Selection sale

The fifth La Aguada Selection sale was held on Thursday November 18, at Tattersall, in San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event had Carlos Reyes Terrabusi and La Irenita as guest breeders, and featured a high number of people in attendance.

La Aguada hosts the Selection Sale since 2006, and increased year after year, due to the high success and the ever growing interest among the polo people. The auction is held during the Julio Novillo Astrada Cup, La Aguada Polo Club’s premier tournament, and the products of the best mares of the Novillo Astrada family, all of them players of the Triple Crown in Argentina, are sold at the auction. La Aguada Polo Team, comprised by the four Novillo Astrada brothers  – Javier, Eduardo, Miguel and Ignacio – are the most recent winners of the Triple Crown, which they achieved in 2003.

With their professional view and their renowned high spirits, the Novillo Astrada family started to develop their breed, investing in the best horse strings in Argentina, as well by importing horses from Australia, New Zealand, England, United States, among others. A property of La Aguada is River Slaney, the stallion that had the most offsprings playing the Argentine Open between 2007 and 2009; amongst which are Cereza, Miguel Novillo Astrada’s best mare; Delfina, Llovizna, Aguada Dinámica, Aguada Mandarina, Aguada Piquetera and Aguada Carioca, all of them playing the Argentine Open.
