La Casa Hermosa Wins in Overtime

After charging out to an early 2-0 lead, Villa Del Lago
allowed La Casa Hermosa to get back into the game in the second half and
capture a 9-8 overtime win on a penalty conversion by Chris Nevins in Freebooters
Classic action at the International Polo Club in Wellington Saturday morning.

Matias Obregon scored the first goal of the game on a
penalty shot in the first chukker followed by a goal from the field from
Marianito Obregon.  Villa Del Lago smothered
the La Casa Hermosa attack, holding them scoreless in the opening seven minutes
of lay as they took the early 2-0 lead.

A goal from the field from Chris Nevins was followed by a
60-yard penalty conversion from Jeff Blake as La Casa Hermosa tied it up at 2-2
in the second, and the battle was on.

Jeff Blake added another goal from the field in the
third, followed by a 40-yard penalty shot for a goal from his brother Brad
Blake as the moved ahead 4-2.  The Villa
Del Lago attack continued to press the attack, drawing three penalties from the
defending La Casa Hermosa players. 
Matias Obregon did the honors, converting two 60-yard penalty shots and
a 30-yarder.  Villa Del Lago Left the
field with a tenuous 5-4 advantage.

The third period opened with consecutive goals from Brad
and Jeff Blake for a 6-5 La Casa Hermosa edge, but Marianito Obregon tied it up
at 6-6 with his first goal of the game to end the chukker.

Jeff Blake converted a 60-yard Safety in the fifth for a
7-6 lead, but Villa Del Lago was awarded a goal on a rarely called Penalty 1 to
deadlock it at 7-7.  Nevins closed out
the chukker with a goal from the field and an 8-7 advantage to end the chukker.

Defenses took center stage in the final chukker of
regulation with Villa Del Lago struggling to preserve their one goal lead while
La Casa Hermosa fought to score the tying goal and force the contest into
overtime.

It was Marianito Obregon who finally drove the ball
through the La Casa Hermosa goal for the 8-8- tie and a sudden-death overtime
period.

An ill-timed foul put Nevins at the penalty line in the
overtime period, and in seconds it was over as the penalty goal delivered the
victory to La Casa Hermosa in a 9-8 barnburner.

Jeff Blake scored four times for La Casa Hermosa.  Nevins added three goals, including the game
winner, and Brad Blake accounted for two scores in the win.

Matias Obregon scored four goals for Villa Del Lago.  Mariano Obregon scored three times and the
team received one goal on a Penalty 1 (an automatic goal).
