Grit and Glamour Combine in the Standard Chartered Private Bank Ladies International 2013 at the Singapore Polo Club

Grit and glamour combine at the Standard Chartered Private Bank Ladies International Polo Tournament 2013 played throughout this week with the finals being played on Sunday 6th October, organised by the Singapore Polo Club (SPC).

Competing for the coveted title are four teams comprising international professionals and local SPC female polo players. The highest rated international professionals include players from Argentina and the United Kingdom.

Inés Lalor from Argentina is from a renowned polo family, whose father Luis Lalor was elected President of the Argentine Polo Association in 2009. Of similarly high levels are Mumy Bellande and Maru Gimenez, who are seasoned polo professionals with many years of experience and are expected to put forward a great show of exciting polo.

Sarah Wiseman from the United Kingdom is of equal level to the Argentine professionals and was awarded the 2013 Audi Polo Award for The Most Outstanding Lady Player and will be teaming up with UK professional Claire Donnelly and local SPC players Claudia Zeisberger and Melissa Ko.

Equally highly rated is Izzy Parsons from the United Kingdom, who is also the youngest female polo player in this tournament. She will play with Kenyan born Tiva Gross and local players April McKenna, Stephanie Masefield and Elaine Parnell.

Preliminary matches were played on Thursday 3 October and semi-finals will be played on Saturday 5 October. Tournament finals will be played on Sunday 6 October with the teams competing for 3rd and 4th, 1st and 2nd placing respectively.
