On Behalf of the USPA Marketing, LLC

Dear USPA Members,

The Marketing Team is pleased to share this in-depth Barron’s story that ran in its Penta affluent lifestyle magazine in the Friday, February 28, 2014 edition. There are actually three different components of the story:

Polo for Normal Folks,” focuses on arena polo, the sport’s versatility among players of all ages, and its growing popularity among women.

How Polo Can Make You Perform Better In Business,” goes into the chess-like nature of the sport, specifically how one can utilize the strategy in polo towards their business know-how.

Finally, the video “Polo Pleasures,” gives a taste of the challenge and excitement of the sport of polo with a focus on how more and more people of all ages are getting involved with the sport.

These three connected articles highlight polo as an accessible and exciting sport, perfect for business executives for its intensity and strategy. The PR campaign, which is being executed by keating/co, is focused on bringing new players to our sport by telling the personal stories of how some of our current members became involved with polo, and how polo benefits them. This story features Haviland Hollow Club owner and Wall Street executive Sam Ramirez, Jr; global consultant and volunteer polo teacher Steve Rudolph; Outback Steakhouse co-founder, entrepreneur and five time U.S. Open Polo Championship® winner Tim Gannon; and finally, Intel executive and our Marketing Chairwoman, Christine Vermes.

All volunteered to share their polo stories with Barron’s Penta. We believe that by sharing these stories, readers will be enlightened to learn that they do not need a horse or even riding experience to learn to play polo; and these stories will motivate them to engage with the sport, to come out to a polo club to watch a match and perhaps try a lesson at their local club.

We are gathering more stories to share and it’s truly remarkable how many different paths you have all taken to become part of our exciting sport. If you’d like to share your story or know of someone who might want to share theirs, please send me a quick email.

We look forward to spreading the word about the incredible people who have chosen to make polo an important part of their lives!

Best,

Jim Rossi
