POLO AT MARRINERS 2013

POLO AT MARRINERS 2013

Following on from the success of last year, which saw nearly 2000 people through the gates,  the organising team of Polo at Marriners are planning a third showcase match of the UK’s Best of Under 25 Players, with a warm up match between the Best of Under 21’s, on Sunday 26 May at the beautiful private ground at Marriners Farm, Bramdean, Hampshire. The proceeds of the day will once again go to various charities, including Action on Addiction, of which the Patron is the Duchess of Cambridge.

The main match, kicking off at 12 noon,  will feature some of the top names in British Polo today, including Hampshire’s own Nick Pepper, Max Charlton, Richard Le Poer, George Meyrick, John Kent and Billy Jackson Stops. The teams will be put together by Alan Kent, former England eight-goaler., The Under 21’s are being organised by Theresa Hodges, Chairman of Pony Club Polo and Jilly Emerson. Recruited so far are Izzy Parsons, John Sleeman, Freddy Dear, Charlie Scott , Will Brasher and Will Berner and their match will follow on at 3pm.

The day, generously sponsored once again principally by Hattingley Valley Wines, Savills, and Cirrus Inns, promises a fantastic all round fun day out with an exciting array of trade stands, bouncy castle, a Parade of Hounds and a unique rally, by kind permission of the Silver Ghost Club, of vintage Rolls Royces,  not to mention obviously two spectacular matches of first class polo.
