The Polo Awards are set to return on 11 May 2026 at the iconic Underglobe, London, promising another unforgettable evening celebrating excellence in the world of polo. Building on the tradition of honouring the winners of the Victor and Victrix Ludorum from the previous season, the 2026 edition will introduce four exciting new awards, expanding the spotlight to clubs, ponies, coaches, and players.
The new categories include:
Polo Club of the Year
Polo Pony of the Year
Polo Coach of the Year
Polo Player of the Year
Sponsors for each these new awards will be announced imminently, with each partner providing vital support to the evening. Nominations for the Club and Coach categories will open this Friday, 6 March – look out for more information via the members’ newsletter and HPA socials – while the Polo Pony and Player of the Year awards will be shortlisted in-house using a stats-based approach, ensuring the highest level of recognition for these standout contributions to the sport. Nominations for Club and Coach of the Year will be reviewed internally before the final shortlists are released, with the winners of all four categories to be decided by public vote.
“The Polo Awards have always celebrated the very best in the game,” said Anna Hall, CEO. “This year, we are thrilled to broaden the celebration, recognising not just our winning teams, but the clubs, coaches, players, and ponies that make the sport extraordinary. This is just a starting point: we have additional categories in mind for the 2027 Polo Awards, and can’t wait to build on this edition for the future.”
The 2026 Polo Awards promise to be a night of glamour, excitement, and celebration for the polo community. Stay tuned for more details on nominations, voting, and sponsorships as the countdown to May begins. Invitations will be sent out later this week, with tickets and tables available for purchase in due course.
