Robin Hood Charity Match

Robin Hood Charity Match

Nacho Figueras is back and he’ll be on the playing field
alongside other polo greats in the
2013 Piaget Hamptons Cup Polo Match scheduled to take place between 3PM and 7PM
on Sunday, August 11th at Joe DiMenna’s Equuleus Polo Club in Watermill, New
York. The event will benefit Robin Hood Foundation, whose mission is to fight
poverty in New York.  For tickets or more
information call 212-650-0007.

Figueras, playing in his first polo game since breaking a
hip in a fall during an international match in England on May 19th,
will be joined on the St. Regis Hotel & Resorts team by Joe DiMenna, Mariano
Aguerre and Mariano Gonzalez.  They will
face a Credit Suisse team comprised of Stefano Natella, Francisco Ayala, Magoo Laprida
and Juan Martin Nero.

“It’s all about the charity,” said Figueras, a favorite in
the Hamptons.  Playing for a charitable
cause is nothing new to Figueras as Prince Harry’s Sentebale website notes “Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras is one of
very few high-goal players who actively draw spectators and media attention to
the “Sport of Kings” – a sport with over two thousand years of history, an
Olympic pedigree and an ever increasing fan base who recognize its addictive
charm.”

Figueras was
appointed an Ambassador for Sentebale.   Sentebale
is a charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help the
most vulnerable children in Lesotho get the support they need to lead healthy
and productive lives.

Figueras has
appeared in charity matches to benefit Sentebale in both New York and Brazil,
and this will be his second participation in the Piaget sponsored Hampton’s Cup
to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation benefitting New York families in need.
