Santa Maria Polo Club prepares for the 2015 Spring Season
From the 27th of March till the 28th of June 2015, 10 weekends to enjoy the best polo
Santa María Polo Club gets the “bocha” rolling for the Spring Season. This time will count on more than 10 weekends of intense polo with a total of 11 tournaments offering lots of activity to enjoy the outdoors.
There is no time for rest when living the sport that marks Sotogrande’s and the Campo de Gibraltar’s identity and no destination that offers such a singular offer of leisure combined with sport. The season will consist of 4 Medium Goal and 7 Low Goal Tournaments. These tournaments will reunite not only national but international teams who do not intend to hesitate to indulge in the area’s warm climate.
Easter Polo, which commences on the 27th of March, will be one of the highlights of the season’s calendar with the beginning of the XXXVI José Ignacio Domecq Memorial Tournament, a polo classic that identifies the Easter holidays in Sotogrande and that will finish with the grand final on Sunday the 5th of April.
35 editions of this tournament have been played in the memory of one of the best polo players in Spain, José Ignacio Domecq, also known for being a renowned Andalusian winemaker. In parallel with this tournament various low goal tournaments will also be played.
Easter will center its activities on the famous Los Pinos fields, where one can find the principal pavilion that will host the Spring Polo Shopping for yet another year. A selection of shops and art exhibitions will take advantage of the arrival of a large number of visitors that are on holidays to display their products. Alongside all of this the Los Pinos Pavilion will provide a restaurant service where guests will be able to come together and enjoy the polo and club facilities whilst divulging in a tasty meal or morning or afternoon snack.
Santa María Polo club has a strong commitment to the medium handicap with the objective of consolidating this season amongst the leading tournaments of the international calendar with the advantage of being able to offer a climate and superb facilities that are incomparable for to teams and fans across Europe.
