The semifinals of the Santa María Polo Club Gold Cup are already set
Dubai Polo Team defeated Dos Lunas A&G Banca Privada by 11 goals to 10 and qualified to the semifinals of the Santa María Polo Club High Goal Gold Cup. Dubai, defending champion of the Gold Cup, joins Lechuza Caracas, Ayala Polo Team and La Indiana in the next stage of the most important trophy of the 46º International Polo Tournament.
The semifinals, which will be held next Friday at Los Pinos fields, will have the following matches: Ayala will play against Dubai Polo Team and Lechuza Caracas will face La Indiana. The last qualifying stage brought a lot of excitement and great polo at Los Pinos fields, main venue of the International Polo Tournament.
In the first match of the day, Lechuza Caracas defeated Ayala Polo Team by 11 goals to 8 and sealed the first place in the ranking. The decisive game between Dubai Polo Team and Dos Lunas A&G Banca Privada had everything; great polo level, excitement and uncertainty result until the end of the last minute. The huge crowd that today attended the Santa Maria Polo Club fields enjoyed with the match that qualyfied Dubai Polo Team to the semifinals.

“It was a very tough game. In a moment of the match we achieved a three goals difference in the score with chances to keep on going. But we made some mistakes that made Dos Lunas comeback and put pressure on us. We knew they were coming for us; they are great team, that´s why we had to keep on fighting till the end. Finally we achieved the victory and the last ticket to the semifinals, and that´s what counts “.
Aerolíneas Argentinas Medium Goal Gold Cup
The Aerolíneas Argentinas Gold Cup will know tomorrow the finalists of the most important trophy of the season. Two great matches for the semifinals of the Gold Cup will be held tomorrow. Starting Equus, winner of the Silver Cup, playing against Bardon from 5.15 pm at Los Pinos field 2 followed by Royal Salute vs Marqués de Riscal on field 1 from 6.45 pm.
Isolas 1892 Low Goal Gold Cup
The Santa María Polo Club Puente de Hierro fields will receive tomorrow the semifinals of the Isolas 1892 Gold Cup. Jolly Rogers King of Polo will face La Clarita from 11am at field 2 while Sapphire and FCT Sotovila will play from 12.15 am at Puente de Hierro field 2.
In this 46th edition of the Tournament more than 21 teams are taking part of the competition, with a large number of elite players, including four of the top 10 players in world polo ranking: Facundo Pieres, who will play with Ayala Polo Team; Juan Martín Nero and Pablo Mac Donough, who will stand up for Brunei and Dubai Polo Teams, and the Uruguayan David Stirling. Besides polo matches, attendance, that´s free during almost all the season matches, has many leisure activities available: a varied gastronomy, Shopping Village, children’s area, bars, After Polo night parties.
