After a great comeback on the scoreboard, Brunei beat Ayala by 13 to 9 and became champion of the Electrolit Gold Cup of Medium Handicap, after the final developed on court 4 of Los Pinos, in Sotogrande, this Friday. The match had 2 very different halves, with Ayala’s team dominating during the first one, while Brunei was superior in the second. There were great individual performances by Benjamin Panelo and Matías Mac Donough, authors of 7 and 9 goals, respectively; although the joint performance of the Brunei team during the last 2 chukkers ended up tipping the balance in favor of the winners.
As a prelude to the grand final, John Smith beat ATL Marine & Energy and won the Turkish Airlines Cup, whose award ceremony was attended by Numan Cizmecioglu, General Manager of Turkish Airlines.
Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros, Representative of Electrolit in Spain, presented the Trophy to the champions of the Electrolit Gold Cup of Medium Handicap.
On Saturday, August 26, it will be time for the definitions of the High and Low Handicap. Both meetings will take place in the afternoon, in Los Pinos.
