Copa de Oro – Final

After a really emotional final, played this Saturday on court 3 of Los Pinos, in Sotogrande, Dubai was twice champion of the Electrolit Gold Cup of High Handicap, after beating MB Polo by 9 to 8. Although the start had been favorable for the MB Polo team, which returned to Sotogrande after 4 years, Dubai gradually returned to itself, until finding its best level in the fifth chukker, when it got a partial 3-0 and went to the front on the scoreboard. In the final period, and beyond MB Polo’s attempts to get closer, Dubai knew how to withstand the difference of 1 goal after the goals converted by Camilo Castagnola and Pablo Mac Donough, and celebrated the two-time championship, something that had not happened in this category in Sotogrande since 2016, when Dubai also achieved such a feat.

In the long break of the final, a very emotional moment took place, when the Spanish team, winner of the FIP World Championship in the United States, was honored and made the Olympic lap with the Trophy. Pelayo Berazadi, Nicolás Álvarez, Luis Domecq, Jaime Serra and Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazú participated in the tribute.
