Ayala Polo Team achieves a great victory in the Maserati Silver Cup
In a great polo match, one of the best till the date of the 46th International Polo Tournament, Ayala Polo Team defeated Dos Lunas A & G Private Banking by 9 goals to 8 in the second day of action at the Maserati Silver Cup.
With a goal scored by Facundo Pieres in tha last action of the match, patron Iñigo Zobel´s team achieved the victory in a spectacular game enjoyed by the numerous stand that attended the Santa Maria Polo Club. The Royal Bliss Bronze Cup champion kicks off the Maserati Silver Cup in the best way in a very tough match decided, by Facundo Pieres for Ayala, in the last action of the game. The Maserati Silver Cup returns tomorrow to Los Pinos with another attractive match. From 7 pm Lechuza Caracas will face La Indiana at field 3.
Aerolíneas Argentinas Medium Goal Silver Cup
Brunei, Bardon, Equus and Royal Salute won today their respective matches for the full stage of the Aerolíneas Argentinas Silver Cup. Four matches were held today in this level at Puente de Hierro and Los Pinos fields. In the morning, at Puente de Hierro, Bardon defeated Golden Goose by 14 goals to 11 while Brunei beat Sainte Mesme 14-12. Equus remains unbeaten in the tournament after defeating Twenty 20 by 12 goals to 7 and Royal Salute achieved its first triump in the tournament by winning against Marqués de Riscal 14-6.
Isolas 1892 Low Goal Silver Cup
From 11 a.m., the fields of Puente de Hierro will receive the second action day of the Low Goal Isolas 1892 Silver Cup. La Mangosta will play against Sardañola at field 1 and at the same time Don Carlos will face FCT Sotovila at field 2. Match between La Clarita and Ghabilian Guards will be held at 12.15 in field 1 to close the action day.
In this 46th edition of the Tournament more than 21 teams are taking part of the competition, with a large number of elite players, including four of the top 10 players in world polo ranking: Facundo Pieres, who will play with Ayala Polo Team; Juan Martín Nero (Lechuza Caracas) and Pablo MacDonough, who will stand up for Brunei and Dubai Polo Teams, and the Uruguayan David Stirling (Lechuza). Besides polo matches, attendance, that´s free during almost all the season matches, has many leisure activities available: a varied gastronomy, Shopping Village, children’s area, bars, After Polo night parties.
