SUPA stars unite for the International Polo Festival 2008

The La Martina SUPA International Polo Festival 2008 will take place from 7th to 13th July, where the next generation of polo stars from England, France and India will come together for a week long polo extravaganza, culminating in the La Martina International SUPA Festival day at Cirencester Park Polo Club on Saturday July 12th.

Sponsored by La Martina and supported by Roxtons, each year SUPA invite new international schools outside of England to join them in a week long polo festival – where the best of schools and universities players are selected and invited to play.

This year, players chosen to represent Young India and Young France will join two Young England teams and participate in a number matches around the UK.  The 1st Test Match will take place on Tuesday 8th July at Guards Polo Club at 3pm between Young England II ‘v’ Young India, followed by  Young England I ‘v’ Young France at 4.15pm.

Included in the festival week will be visits to a number of clubs around the UK for friendly team practices, some high goal polo thrown in to watch for good measure and even a trip to London.

Saturday July 12th will see a selection of hand-picked players from around the globe unite to play in the SUPA International Festival at Cirencester Park Polo Club in Gloucestershire.  The Young England Teams will face France and India again in the 2nd Test Match and the reigning champions, Durham University, will play against a selected team of players representing British Universities.  The Elli Gray Ladies Team will also take on the Roxton’s Ladies Team – both teams representing the best of young women’s polo. For the 14’s and under, a Colts Match will see eight of the best younger players participate and also go head to head for this prestigious title.

The La Martina SUPA International Polo Festival represents the best of the Schools and Universities Players selected by the Schools and Universities Polo Association (SUPA) and is just one of the many initiatives supported by SUPA.

All spectators are welcome at Guards Polo Club on July 8th for a 3.00pm start and Cirencester Park Polo Club on July 12th with games starting at 11.00am and ending at 5.30pm.
