Sussex 12-year old wins prestigious Telegraph polo trophy at Cowdray


The annual Pony Club Polo Championships were held on 6th, 7th and 8th August at Cowdray Park with teams competing from pony clubs countrywide.  With 16 teams battling it out in the Under 15’s section known as Surtees, local Pony Club Old Surrey & Burstow finished with three teams placed in the top half of the country’s best players.


One of the Surtees players, 12 year old Terence Lent, who has been playing polo for just three years, went on to scoop the coveted Daily Telegraph’s Young Telegraph Trophy for The Most Promising Player Under 15. Terence was also selected to represent Young England in the Stagshead Trophy.


There will be a free pony club polo demonstration and family fun day at the Terence Lent Trophy held at Sussex Polo Club on Sunday 29 August 2010 at Sussex Polo Club, Home Farm, Wallage Lane, Rowfant, West Sussex RH10 4NH.
