Following the match, England’s Hazel Jackson was named Swarovski’s Most Valuable Player. The test match marked the first time that ladies teams have competed on Royal Salute Coronation Cup Day, the most prestigious annual international polo day in the world.

Swarovski is sponsoring the England Ladies team for the 2017 season to celebrate the inspirational players, whose strength, grace and precision reflect the values of the brand. As the popularity of women’s polo increases, Swarovski is proud to shine a light on women’s empowerment as part of its mission to promote women’s sport. In addition to its sponsorship of the Swarovski England Ladies, Nadja Swarovski presented the inaugural Swarovski Most Outstanding Lady Player award to Hazel Jackson at the Polo Awards in June.

Bespoke Swarovski crystal helmets

Swarovski collaborated with renowned milliner Emily Baxendale of Emily London to decorate the Armis helmets worn by the Swarovski England Ladies team on Coronation Cup Day. Inspired by the red rose motif of English polo, Baxendale hand-embellished rose fabric with precision-cut Swarovski crystals.

Emily Baxendale commented: “Working with Swarovski enabled us to combine the core of conventional millinery with a new and exciting medium. Introducing the luminosity crystal added depth and texture to the design, enriching the colours and enhancing the look.”
