A Celebration of Polo and Automobile Excellence at Sydney Polo Club

 

Several million dollars worth of luxury classic and contemporary vehicles from Concours d’Elegance Australia will be showcased at the Sydney Polo Club during the Sydney Gold Cup Polo Tournament on Sunday 3 October.

 

Held on the beautiful Polo grounds in Richmond (NSW) on the banks of the Hawkesbury River, the Sydney Gold Cup is a 10 Goal Polo Tournament featuring international Polo players and some of the most well-bred ponies in the country.

 

Commenting on the upcoming celebrations, Sydney Polo Club’s Director Rebecca Higgins is delighted to welcome the exquisite fleet of elegant vehicles from the Concours d’Elegance Australia at the Sydney Gold Cup, for what is sure to be a day of all round competition of elegance.

 

“We are looking forward to this wonderful event as it will combine the elegance and technical excellence of these prestigious automobiles from Concours d’Elegance Australia with the style and excitement of the game of Polo,” explained Ms Higgins.

 

“In its fourth year now, the Sydney Gold Cup has become a cornerstone of the Australian Polo season attracting some of the best players and most athletic horses. It’s also a great way for the public to experience Polo against a backdrop of classic cars and spending a day of leisure on the lawns with friends and family,” said Ms Higgins.

 

Sam Movizio, Chairman, Concours d’Elegance Australia, commented: “We are very excited that we are going to display the classic cars and motorcycles in the lead up to the Concours d’Elegance Australia event during the esteemed Sydney Gold Cup. This is a fantastic opportunity for auto devotees and Polo enthusiasts to celebrate the style, fashion and elegance of some of the most brilliant machines ever built, while enjoying the Polo tournament with friends and family.”

 

The Sydney Gold Cup is open to all spectators for a small donation on the gate, with all proceeds going to children’s charity Barnardos.  Food and refreshments can be purchased on the day, however spectators are encouraged to bring a champagne picnic and sit under the trees to watch the Polo tournament.  Free jumping castle and face painting for the kids.
