TATA Communications Singapore Polo Open

TATA Communications Singapore Polo Open (19 to 24 May 2015) Raises Sporting Bar for Singapore Polo

The upcoming TATA Communications Singapore Polo Open Tournament (19 to 24 May 2015) will raise the bar for the sport of polo in Singapore. Organised by the Singapore Polo Club (SPC), and supported by Title Sponsor, TATA Communications, this annual tournament sets the stage for it to be a major annual fixture on the International Polo calendar.

A key feature of the Singapore Polo Open is its high-goal average of eight to ten goals per game. Compared to the other tournaments organised by SPC, averaging four goals per game, the Singapore Open raises the bar for Singapore Polo and promises to be an exhilarating event for all sports fans. In addition, three teams instead of the usual four will vie for the coveted championship title.

The Preliminary Rounds will be played on 19, 21 and 23 May, with 20 and 22 May being the scheduled rest days. The Tournament Finals will be played on Sunday 24 May and will feature the top two teams from the three-day round robin matches competing for 1st and 2nd place. Polo professionals from Argentina and two professional umpires – Mr Ben Turner who is now a professional HPA umpire who is based at Cowdray Park in UK and Mr Steve Evans from South Africa will travel to Singapore for this major event.
