The Argentine Polo Association confirmed the six teams between 21 and 38 goals that will star in the 10th Argentine Women’s Polo Open, a contest that will begin on November 26 at the Alfredo Lalor Venue in Pilar (where the four qualifying days and the subsidiary final will be played) and will have its grand final on Friday, December 11 on court 2 of the Argentine Polo Field in Palermo.
On this occasion, the tournament will have the participation of renowned national and international players, from three countries: the United States, France and England. In total, there will be 6 foreign polo players who will play the Open, 25% of the registered players.
La Dolfina, the winning team and the only one to accumulate 5 titles (2017, 18, 21, 22 and 25), will be looking for its sixth trophy – and second in a row –; while UAE Polo – formerly known as El Overo UAE – which has 4 trophies (19, 20, 23 and 24), will try to regain glory. Cuatro Vientos, La Dolfina II, La Ensenada and Chacras de la Trinidad will also participate, teams that will fight for the contest.
Among the most important individuals who will participate in this season, the Women’s Open will have the presence of the four players who hold the highest rating, the 10 goals of the WEF handicap: the American Hope Arellano, the British Hazel Jackson and our compatriots Mía Cambiaso and Candelaria Fernández Araujo, two of the top winners of the tournament -along with the English Millie Hine-, with five titles. Lía Salvo, two-time champion 2019/2020 and all-time top scorer in the competition, with 151 goals scored, will also participate.
Finally, this season 17% of the protagonists will make their absolute debut in the tournament, since there will be four polo players who will have their presentation in the Women’s Open: Myla Cambiaso, Juana and Isabella Lavinia and Clara Trino Ruano. Welcome!
