The 2012 Open USPA National Interscholastic Tournament starts this week
Kicking off polo’s version of March Madness, the Open USPA National Interscholastic Championship Tournament starts this week at the Virginia Polo Center in Charlottesville, Va. The annual polo competition will take place Thursday through Sunday (March 8-11), featuring top high school programs and some of the brightest young stars in U.S. polo.

This year’s tournament will feature Philadelphia’s Cowtown/Work to Ride looking to find the magic touch again after a historical performance in last year’s event that saw the squad become the first all-black polo team to win a national championship.  The team will face stiff competition from four other powerhouse programs from all over the map.

Open National Championship Teams

The National Interscholastic Championship is part of the U.S. Polo Association’s Intercollegiate/Interscholastic (I/I) polo program, which is dedicated to growing the sport by providing maximum exposure, recruiting collegiate and scholastic institutions, coordinating activities and organized competition.  America’s oldest pastime is experiencing a resurgence in the U.S. thanks to I/I polo, dedicated Regional Polo Centers, cost-effective training platforms and the premier Team USPA development program.
