From reality to dreams…
The horses were indeed present yesterday at the Haras de Gassin. The 2016 season was launched this Sunday, May 15 when the Polo Club hosted the first games of the season with four international 6-10 goal teams.
A day in the sun, which finally returned to the peninsula, was highly appreciated on the field of honour. The Polo Club opened its doors by welcoming VIPs and visitors on the Club Terraces. The Grand Opening was the opportunity to discover the polo club’s new restaurant POLO 1999 and its Peruvian and Argentine cuisine in a festive atmosphere with an equestrian show and live music after the awards ceremony.
The first match was fiercely competitive between the Polo 1999 team and the El Porteno Milan Polo Club. Both teams took turns his head to the score board without being able to tie by posting a final score of 5 -5.
For the final Corinne Schuler team was mauled early in the game by the team of F Polo Team, but some great opportunities in the last period have enabled them to reply with a final result of 6-4 for F Polo Team.
The Mayor of Gassin, Anne-Marie Waniart, presented the “Coupe de l’Hippocampe”.
The many VIPs by the field were able to taste the wines from domains in area and friends and partners of the Polo Club (Domaine Bertaud Belieu, Domaine de la Rouillère, Domaine de la Pertuade, Domaine des Marquets and Pommery champagne) The chef’s cocktail was much appreciated, the pieces of meat and the Peruvian ceviches made many fans! The opening dinner took place before the imaginative show of the Quidams Company; the graceful horses of magical beauty enchanted the audience.
A very nice start for this season at the Polo Club, the subtle blend between sport, entertainment and gastronomy will surprise us all summer! …
