The Four Seasons (Kaisser Makaar, Mason Wroe, Luis Escobar
and Chris Nevins) took it out on Santa Clara (Francisco Escobar, Alejandro
Gonzalez, Malcolm Borwick and Carlos Gracida) Saturday in an 11-5 rout of the
previously unbeaten team in their opening game of the 2014 Freebooters Classic.

 Chris Nevins opened the day with a goal from the field
followed by a 60-yard penalty conversion from teammate Luis Escobar.  Carlos Gracida kept Santa Clara from being
shutout with the closing goal of the chukker, 2-1.

Two second chukker goals from Luis Escobar and a goal from
Mason Wroe went unanswered as The Four Seasons stretched their lead to
four goals, 5-1.

Santa Clara got its offense back on track in the third, but
The Four Seasons was up to the challenge. 
Single goals from Malcolm Borwick and Gracida (penalty conversion) were
countered by a pair of goals from Nevins and a goal from Luis Escobar.  At the end of the first half The Four Seasons
were riding a five goal lead, 8-3.

Defenses tightened in the fourth chukker.  Borwick opened the scoring with a goal from
the field for Santa Clara.  The Four Seasons
answered with a goal from the field from Luis Escobar.  The Four Seasons rode off the field with a
five goal advantage, 9-4.

Fifth chukker goals from Wroe and Nevins put The Four
Seasons on top, 11-5.  Gracida converted
a 40-yard penalty shot for Santa Clara for their only score of the
chukker. 

The two teams rode out the final chukker of the game without
a goal.  The Four Seasons scored their
first win of the tournament in an 11-5 romp.

Luis Escobar led all scoring with five goals.  Nevins scored four times and Wroe added two
goals for the win.  Gracida’s three goals
led the Santa Clara attack.  Borwick
scored twice in the loss.
