THE PRESIDENTS POLO CLUB OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED ITS PROJECT WITH THE RUSSIAN POLO CUP – A 12 GOAL POLO MATCH WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE LEGENDARY CARLOS GRACIDA.

Under perfect sunny and warm polo weather conditions, the Russian Polo Cup took place at the Presidents Polo Club located on km. 26 of the Rublova Uspenskoe Shossee on July 1, 2012. This event marked the official launch of the Presidents Polo Club project.

Guests at the event were treated to a very exciting 12 goal polo match between the Presidents Polo Club black team against the Presidents Polo Club white team. Each team was composed of two international professional polo players and two local patrons. After a very disputed game the Presidents Polo Club black team finally prevailed over the Presidents Polo Club white team with an 11-9 final score. The black team included: Carlos Gracida (Mexico), Tono Iturrate (Chile), Victor Huaco (Peru) and Anastasia Huaco/Igor Menshenin (Russia). The white team included: Matias Vial (Chile), Martin Estrada (Argentina), David Geovanis (USA) and Raya Sidorenko/Jana Bandurko (Russia).

The assembled guests commented on the speed and beauty of the game as they saw the legendary Carlos Gracida score some great goals and Matias Vial (known for his long and precise passes) hit the polo ball almost from one end of the polo field to the other. Guests included Alexey Semenyachenko from Olympic City, Juan Carlos Kreckler Argentine Ambassador to Russia and Paul Stringer Vice President of Nicklaus Design.

Victor Huaco, President of the Presidents Polo Club and manager of the Orion Property Fund, which is an investor in the project together with Olympic City, stated: “It was a great pleasure to see so many Russian guests enjoy a polo match of this level and be part of the launch of the Presidents Polo Club project. Guests began to enquire about how to learn to play polo and acquire property at the club so I think we are off to a good start.”

Carlos Gracida commented: “This is my third time playing polo in Russia with Victor (Huaco) and it is always a pleasure to return to Moscow. I am happy to see that the Presidents Polo Club has built good polo fields and that now the construction of the rest of the club’s infrastructure is under way. Together with the Presidents Polo Club we will be organizing various polo clinics for local players to ensure that new and existing local polo players keep improving and developing their game.”
