UAE and Halcyon Gallery remainperfect; Ayala surprises Ellerston

Halcyon Gallery (Matias Bernal, Jota Chavanne, GuillermoTerrera and Max Routledge) remained undefeated as they managed to edge past ElRosario (Alejandro Penafiel, Valerio Zubiaurre, Milo Fernandez and SalvadorUlloa) 12-11 in the opening Silver Cup match of the day at the Santa Maria PoloClub in Sotogrande, Spain.
The win boosts Halcyon Gallery into a tie with Scapa AND UAE as the only undefeated teams in Silver Cup play with identical 2-0 records.
AYALA 16, ELLERSTON 12
It was an impressive Ellerston lineup (Johnny Williams, AliPatterson, Gonzalo Pieres and Facundo Pieres) that boasted two 10-goalers withGonzalo and Facundo Pieres, but it didn’t seem to bother Ayala (Inigo Zobel,Guillermo Willington, Pablo MacDonough and Juan Jauretche) as they ran awaywith a 16-12 win.
The victory drops Ellerston to 1-1 while the Ayala teamevened its record at 1-1.
UAE 16, DOS LUNAS 10
Tommy Beresford fit nicely into the UAE lineup (TommyBeresford, Jack Richardson, Lucas Monteverde and Pablo MacDonough) in theabsence of team captain HH Sheikha Maitha Al Maktoum as the combination ofLucas Monteverde and Pablo MacDonough had their way with a struggling Dos Lunasside (A Sainzde Vicuna, Jason Warren, Diego Cavanagh and Tomas Garcia Del Rio)in a 16-10 victory.
The win kept the UAE record perfect at 2-0 while Dos Lunas remainswinless at 0-2.
Silver Cupplay continues on Saturday, August 10 with Royal Salute (0-2) facing Dubai(1-1) at 5:30PM followed by a 7PM contest between HB Polo (1-1) and Scapa(2-0).
