US Open Polo Championship – Day 6 Qualifier Action Continues

It was a midweek double header for the U.S. Open Polo Championship at the National Polo Center on Thursday 3rd April as the qualifying round action continued, setting the scene for who will progress to the elimination stage of the tournament.

Match 1:

First up, The Dutta Corp won against Pilot by a score of 11-7 to take their first win. It was a close match throughout but The Dutta Corp came alive in the final chukka scoring 4 goals and leaving Pilot goalless and taking the match from tied up at 7-7 to a comfortable 11-7 victory. Pilot continue to play their new line up with Cody Ellis and Matias Torres Zavaleta out for Mackenzie Weisz and Lucas James.

Match 2:

Next up, Park Place won against Clearwater by a score of 10-4 in the second match of the day in a straightforward battle with Clearwater struggling to find any attacking foothold against the powerful side in blue and winners of the USPA Gold Cup. Park Place were the stronger side, with Gabriel Crespo in for Andrey Borodin, they scored 9 of their 10 goals from the field and ran out the easy winners despite some flashes of brilliance and some determined defence from Clearwater.
