Twelve Oaks 9 – 8 Vikings                                            The Castle Ground
Murus Sanctus 15 – 10 BP Polo                                 The Princes’ Ground
La Magdeleine 10 – 8 Sujan Indian Tigers             The Queen’s Ground

A tripleheader in the Queen’s Cup highlighted the end of the week beginning with Twelve Oaks facing Vikings on The Castle Ground. Matias Mac Donough Jnr struck first for Twelve Oaks but it was quickly matched by consecutive goals from Juan Martin Zubia to put Vikings into the lead 2-1. The remainder of the first half belonged to Twelve Oaks as they scored five unanswered goals, three coming off the mallet of Pittaluga who converted both opportunities from the penalty line.  A late field goal from James Beim ended the drought for Vikings but the trailed 6-3 at the halftime break. Foul trouble for Twelve Oaks gave Vikings an opening for a comeback with Cavanagh adding two goals from the penalty line in the fourth chukka, but after improving their discipline, a lone goal from Charlie Wooldridge provided the only offense in the fifth chukka. A late push from Vikings pulled them within one but that was as close as they could get as Twelve Oaks hung on for the 9-8 victory.

Moving to The Princes’ Ground, Murus Sanctus was trying to become the first team to four wins, facing BP Polo, in search of their first win. Receiving three goals on handicap, BP Polo quickly added to that advantage on a field goal from Benjamin Panelo. Regrouping, Murus Sanctus responded with three straight goals, including two from Marcos Araya to reduce the deficit to just one. Moving forward in the game, BP Polo found success using Garvy Beh, who sent the ball through the posts twice in the second chukka. Murus Sanctus immediately changed the momentum in the game, scoring nine of the next 10 goals in the match with a complete team effort that saw contributions from Araya, Polito Pieres and Corinne Ricard. Now holding a 12-7 lead at the end of the fourth chukka, Murus Sanctus continued to drive forward and limited any counter attacks for BP Polo. James Beh found the goal on two different occasions, but Alejandro Muzzio added his name to the scoresheet in the sixth chukka to secure the 15-10 triumph for Murus Sanctus.

The final match of the day featured a close contest between La Magdeleine and Sujan Indian Tigers. A fast-paced opening chukka saw end-to-end action with Facundo Fernandez Llorente sending both shot attempts through the posts for La Magdeleine, while Jaisal Singh and Bautista Bayugar provided the response for Sujan Indian Tigers. Applying pressure in the second chukka, Sujan Indian Tigers shot at goal five times with Bayugar securing two goals, leaving the score tied at 4-all. The pace slowed for the first time in the game as the offense moved to the penalty line where Pablo Mac Donough converted a Penalty 2 and Penalty 3 for a narrow 6-5 lead at halftime. For the first time in the match, La Magdeleine began to separate themselves on the scoreboard as Sujan Indian Tigers continued to send Mac Donough to the penalty line where he added two more goals. Shooting at goal an astounding eight times in the fifth chukka, La Magdeleine remained in the lead after Mac Donough’s sixth tally of the match. Facing a 10-8 deficit, Sujan Indian Tigers pushed to tie the game in the final chukka but were held scoreless, leaving the 10-8 score intact as La Magdeleine improved to 2-1 in the tournament.
