Audi continued its winning ways at the Santa Barbara Polo Club where it swept all high-goal tournaments last year without a loss.

This time it was a Melissa Ganzi-led foursome that charged over Ben Soleimani’s Mansour crew 15-11 to take the second consecutive 20-goal tournament of the California season (without a loss) in the Bill Triller Memorial Cup.

Audi led 8-7 at halftime but relied on four goals in the final chukker for the win.

Luis Escobar and Kris Kampsen led the Audi team with five goals apiece.  Juan Bollini scored the go-ahead goal in the sixth and Melissa Ganzi added a goal from the field in the third period.

Santiago Trotz was Mansour’s top scorer with five goals.

Twenty-goal action will continue with three games in Veuve Cliquot Skene Cup scheduled to begin on Friday, July 24 with a seven-team field.

Bridgehampton high–goal action began this past weekend with Cinque Terre/Heathcote downing Certified 14-10 in Saturday’s opening match.  Sunday saw White Birch ride over Equuleus 15-7.

Mercedes Benz Cup action will continue this week with Great Oaks debuting against Cinque Terre/Heathcote on Tuesday followed by Wednesday’s showdown between Black Watch and White Birch.  Both games are slated to begin at 5pm.
